Pete Tyler brings to Chuck Harder& Associates a highly qualified background of Instructional capabilities and operational expertise. Pete’s law enforcement career spans over 28 years. In 2019 Pete retired as the Chief of Police for the City of Ithaca, in New York State. During his time as Chief, he oversaw the management of the department which included Patrol, Administrative, and the Investigations Divisions. Pete’s work experience also included his leadership role in the Ithaca SWAT team and Training Division.
Due to his expertise, Pete served on the regional safe school committee, representing law enforcement. In this role, he assisted in the development of district-wide safe school plans and evaluated numerous school lockdown procedures for regional school districts. Pete has been heavily involved throughout his career and retirement in teaching tactical leadership, medical trauma care and tactical response operations to the law enforcement community for a variety of programs that serve federal, military, state and local law enforcement agencies’ throughout the country. In addition, Pete has been an active Volunteer Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician and currently serves as an Asst. Chief/EMT for his local dept.
